It’s been an annual tradition on my blog to post some Cherry Blossom nails this time of year. I don’t really know how it all started, but after I made my first cherry blossom nails, I wanted to improve the design and made it again the next year. Since then, it’s been going on every Spring! You if you are curious about my previous designs, please click HERE. So let’s take a look at my cherry blossom nails 2016!
I started of my nails by making a gradient with pale blue and turquoise nail polishes. The polishes used were Cirque Colors Meet Me in Montauk and Color Club Blue-Ming. I sponged the colors onto my nails until the gradient was smooth and seamless. I applied a layer of top coat on the gradient to smooth out any imperfections.
To create the flowers, I reached for a thin nail art brush. The flowers are pretty tiny, so it is easiest to use a brush that’s as thin as possible. I started off by making the branches with OPI You Don’t Know Jacques! I made some random strokes, going up and down the nail with a few extensions from the main branch. The flowers were made with two shades of pink, the lighter one China Glaze Spring In My Step and a bit darker shade Serendipity Nail Polish Pink Poinsettia. I added some dark spots right in the middle of the flowers with the same brown I used for the branches. I finished everything off with some bright green leaves.
What do you guys think of my Cherry Blossom nails of 2016? How do you think they compare with my previous designs? I think the one from 2014 is still my absolute favorite! I think I managed to squeeze so much more detail into those and the colors look so vibrant! But I am very happy with these as well. I think the gradient looks quite nice and the flowers came out nicely too.
I really hope you guys like these pretty cherry blossom nails. Please leave your thoughts in the comment section below and let’s celebrate Spring together!
