Hi my beautiful friends. Today we have another edition of Paint All The Nails nail art challenge (the time of flying! I feel like I just posted my geometric nails not too long ago). In the month of April our challenge was to create monochrome nails. If you follow my blog you probably know that I usually make very colorful designs, so you can imagine that I had a bit of trouble with this theme. While monochrome means “values of one color”, we were specifically to make black and white nails for this theme. Also, studs or any other nail decoration wasn’t allowed, so I felt a little bit meh!
Before I forget, I wanted to mention that the awesome ring that I am wearing is from Luna Pyxis. I am totally obsessed with it and they have so many cute designs on their website.
I decided to make some sort of stone marble and at the same time I wanted to incorporate a little geometric element to it. After brainstorming a few ideas, I ended up making a stone marble on half of my nails with a hand painted element.
I started off with painting my nails white and I used China Glaze White on White. Once my base was dry, I prepared my nails for making the marble. I went easy with this design and used the stamping method to create this marble effect. I placed the striping tape on my nails and protected the rest of my nails and cuticles with liquid latex product. I currently like using the one from Bundle Monster called Latex Poli-Peel.
I put a few drops of black and white polish on my silicone mate and swirled them around with a doting tool. Then I picked up the “design” with a small stamper and applied it on at the tips of my nails. I was already pleased with the result, but I wanted to take a step further with some free hand.
I took a black acrylic paint from System 3 in the color Carbon Black to make the little geometric accents. I used a very thin nail art brush and first made a line across my nails. Then I added a small triangle right in the middle. The lines are by no means perfect, but I am still very happy with this free hand.
